    Before the Meet

    • In case of illness or emergency the morning of a meet, please notify one of the coaches.
    • Warm-ups are from 5:00 - 5:30 for home meets and from 5:30 - 6:00 for away meets. Please have swimmers at the pool NO LATER than 15 min prior to warmups, since parking and seating options are often at a premium (especially for our away meets). Each team/group will have a designated area, and we should all sit together as much as possible. Please watch your email and/or the website for exact team warm up times each week.
    • Check in with the designated swimmer check-in area (usually near the volunteer check-in location). Swimmers should also check in with coaches before their races.

    Warm-Ups

    • Warm-ups will be done by age/practice group.
      • 6 and Unders will be with Coach Marissa in lane 6
      • 7-8s will be with Coach Joe in lanes 4 and 5
      • 9-10s will be with Coach Cooper in Lanes 2 and 3
      • USA athletes will be with Coach Nina/David in Lane 1
    • The coaches often meet with the swimmers right after warm-ups to discuss relays, give advice, give a pep talk, etc.
    • Warm-ups are a good time for parents to check in with the volunteer coordinator.
    • There will be lots of experienced parents and older swimmers who will be available to help you as necessary – please ask if you’re not sure what to do!
      • Each age group has a Junior Coach assigned to them! These are swimmers that have been a part of the team for at least 3 seasons now.

    During the Meet

    • After warm-ups, your swimmer should know whether they are in a relay.
    • The majority events have multiple heats since the pool can usually accommodate only six swimmers at a time.
    • Swimmers will be directed to their lane at the appropriate time. When it is time for the swimmer’s event/heat, the swimmer will move up to the starting blocks; the timer will ask for their swimmer number.
    • Please make every effort to stay for the entire meet so that you can cheer for your friends and neighbors. It is very important for swimmers to check with their coach before leaving the meet to ensure they have completed all their events and are not needed for a Relay, which is often the last event.
    • Finally, during meets, please make an effort to clean up your area. Every little bit helps us put the pool back in order after a meet.
